Raining, cold, everywhere full, prices gone up, some prat screaming "you must give way we're racing" (not a sunsail boat for once though).

On the plus side we waved at some power boats and they waved back - oh and thanks to the three or four stinkies that slowed down in the entrance to Chichester by the bar beacon yesterday afternoon..

There's hope yet,

Ian

glad the odd show of consideration is appreciated.

we stopped off in the middle of the western arm to help a fairly large (and high freeboarded) yacht that seemed to have dropped a fender and were having dificulty recovering it - the 'mixed reception' we received was rather confusing until it became clear that they were doing a mob exercise!
Someone somewhere will be cursing us for messing up there efforts no doubt!

Duncan

If it's any consolation I had a similiar experience sailing. Chucked out fender with a yell of 'Man Overboard!' and a MoBo appeared out of nowhere and scooped it up. We fell about laughing, but were very grateful for his display of seamanship and assistance. I very much doubt that you were cursed for this!

Few weeks ago we were sailing and saw a fender in the water with a Sunsail boat nearby. We were between them and said fender, and they were looking everywhere. I raised my arm and pointed at the 'casualty' as they teach you and they were quite pleased with this. They came storming over and recovered it, having first concussed it with their bow.

Life afloat - never a dull moment!

Regards
Tom

We nearly were that MoBo yesterday. Duncan saw a fender in the water and, being the gentleman boater that he is, went to help. At the last minute he realised that they maybe on a MOB exercise and asked. No probs.
