Dredging depths of my knowledge but I suspect if you go up to Newkie on a tide it wouldn't be too long a plod. And there is now secure boat parking somewhere in the city centre.

Trouble is if I set foot in Newcastle it could be weeeeeks before the skipper can haul me back on board again and another week to sober up.. the Port of Tyne is right bang in the middle of pub land! lol
