Completely relaxed lying in the cockpit looking at the stars somewhere in the middle of the Pacific, I was unexpectedly hit in the face by a large flying fish which volunteered to be breakfast.

Once at night, I was sitting on the aft side of the boat, with the arm around the pushpit, nice sail, vaguely thinking about the harmony beween man and nature.
All of a sudden a powerful dolphin blow, about half a meter away.
God I jumped, and may possibly have made some loud noise (too scared to remember).

The same happened to me on a night crossing of the North Sea, surfaced at my elbow, frightened the c..p out of me. I see another post mentions being crept up on by a Dolphin.
Do you think these Dolphins do it on Porpoise?

My wife had a momentary state of panic when a Seagull scored a bullseye.

It could have been worse it could have ended up inside the boat.:)

I was later repremanded for getting the camera instead of a cloth.:D
