Way back in the 1970s I used to play at Land Rovers. There was a sort of standard creed when buying bits:

Series 1 or 2
Long WB or Short
Petrol or Diesel

Didn't matter what bit you wanted - same questions every time

Went in Halfords in Newcastle and asked for a "Sparkrite" electronic ignition system. (that dates it!)

Went through series 1/2, LWB/SWB and then petrol or diesel?

I suggested he take a guess, reply was well which is it. So naturally I said Diesel

He spent about 15 minutes searching for an electronic ignition for a diesel
