Once again the day dawns for MBM to be published. I get up early and rush to the doormat still in my jim-jams.

And what do I find?

Its not bloody arrived! Again ! Ok so it maybe the Xmas post but it is always late. I canceled my MBY subs last year coz they kept sending the wrong issue.

Subscribe, they said at the boatshow. You will get the mag before it goes on sale they said. Total shite.

If the people who run the subscription/delivery thingy can't get it right they should be given a good boot up the backside. Simple.

Toys now back in pram.

David,

If anyone on the MBM stand told you that subs copies arrive before the issues get onto shelves ie the on sale date then they were wrong. They might be right in some cases but it is not a guarantee.

Back in the good old days (whatever they were) it took a week or more for mags to get from printers to newsagents. But distribution improvements have shortened the timeline to the point where it is often at least as efficient as post delivery. In an ideal world I suppose we would have all stuck to the original printing dates and kept the newsagent issues in a warehouse for a few days but that costs money (the official answer) and doesn't allow us to cheat a bit more time out of the system for that essential last page (ie the one that the editor forgot to write).

More seriously and succinctly, subs copies are timed to arrive at the same time as newsagents ones. Christmas post never helps matters but there may have been a delay. I'll ask and if there is we'll post the bad news here.

What they should of course told you is that subs give you a discounted price over the year, the benefit of delivery to your country pile and the excuse for telling us about your jim-jams. Whilst the first two are of quantifiable benefit, the latter undoubtedly has unlimited potential.

Meantime, apologies on behalf of the MBM team for your frustration.

Re: Shirt?

I'll have you know that I am wearing one of my best drinking, dancing, eating, burping, farting and puking shirts.

And if you look closely at the photo you will see that I am in fact at the circus, which should give you all the ammunition you need.

ROFL (whatever that means but BarryD seems to like it)
