Stupid by-laws

Got told a few days ago that i could not launch the dinghy from the roof but only off a trailer??????????
Also he said it needed to be a 4x4 like our Audi quattro is(should be landrover type 4x4) but he said because its a car we can't launch......did it anyway and it was fun to see the landrover next to us get stuck./

I got fined in Saltash because I left the car in the dinghy park whilst rowing out with my dinghy to the mooring. The traffic warded/council told me that if I had a trailer I would not have been fined: I had launched (like you) from the roof. Note it was in autumn/winter, it was pissing down and there were no other cars parked anywhere in the vicinity... /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif.

Sounds like a very sensible and necessary bye-law, just badly implemented/enforced.

I suppose for it to be a by-law it would have had to be discussed at a Council meeting. Can you imagine the conversation?? they would have had to be barking!

Also even more stupid was the 4x4s that launched boats could park on the beach for free and we had to use the pay & display car park!
