We spent Wednesday night in Studland for the first time this year. We were harrassed by jet skis from our arrival at 5pm till dark. It would appear that the boats at anchor were providing the obstacles for their race course. The water ski/ wakeboarders added to the fun making our stay very uncomfortable and disappointing . We would have to be desperate for shelter to visit again. Such a shame that that a beautiful anchorage has been spoilt by the action of a few.

It is of course possible that you had parked in the middle of their racecourse...

Had the same experience last Saturday when we stopped for lunch. I have no problem with jet ski and speed boats etc as long as they are used safely and with consideration of other vessels safety. Running at full speed through an anchorage is simply unsafe. I don’t want to be party to an accident that is waiting to happen.

Should have taken some video of the 40+ jetski squadron going past the other week. Portland is a bit post industrial but at least it's quiet. Is outside Christchurch OK for a lunch hook?

Studland has often been like that over the years.
Second most over-rated anchorage on the South Coast IMHO.
There's been aggro there since the late 60s to my knowledge.

I think it's a yachty-comic conspiracy to keep sending the newbies there.

We anchored off Christchurch overnight years ago.
Problem was, when you get ashore, it's pretty much just a suburb of Bournemouth, ISTR not much to offer without a long walk?
May need to research the food and pub situation.
