For general info, I have just refitted the Strider 35 formally known as Banshee / Zorina.
I bought it in Poole in 2017.
The boat is now called Wolfchild.
It has undergone a back to bare hull refit .
New chain plate bolts, new deck fittings, new mast compresison post.
New floor bearers.
New (balanced) rudder design, now along the centre line of the boat.
New Epoxy Rudder / Stern Tubes & seals.
New Rudder & Prop shafts.
New skin fittings & all plumbing.
The Offset prop shaft / engine bearers have been removed and replaced.
It is now a longitudinal/centre aligned engine, with a new Yanmar 3JH installed.
New electrics/electronics + tubes & pipes.
I also incorporated a sugar scoop on the transom.
Which now has a vertical 1/2" GRP bulkhead laminated in between aft deck and transom.
Now very easy to get in and out of a tender.
Basically a new boat.
Re-launched August 2020 and been sailing around West Coast of Scotland.
Just sailed it down from West Coast of Scotland to Plymouth single-handed.
The ballast /weight ratio of this boat is 53%.
(The info on sailboat data has also been updated.)
Genuinely a really nice boat.
Very pleased with the results of the refit/modifications.
This boat is now good for the next 50 years.
If anyone has any additional info that I don't have I would be pleased to discuss.
Regards,
Peter
