Does the bold Claymore venture forth on the Clyde Cruising Club's Hebridean Cruise or do we do our own thing.
There'll be oysters and ceilidhs and stuff apparently and possibly the odd boat from Scandanavia
Just can't decide - it would mean having to be nice for a couple of weeks of course.

Crusies in company are ok, apapert from the fact that there always SOMEONE complaining about everything and apparently determined to be awkward about the arrnagements or the food and so on. Praps ask if the position is already taken?

Hows about just joining for a couple of days "cause you have made other plans" then if you don't like the company or they don't like your constrctive advice on how to improve things you stick to your "plan".

tag along man, ya never know who you're gonna meet.
You're a free spirit ya can allways go somewhere else if you want, no need for dodgy excuses, thats a girls domain.

Additional information

To participate will cost me the princely sum of £50. Its not likely that I can persuade Dear Heart to go dutch - so what do you think now?

Re: Additional information

I think you'll find that they've set the price that high in the hope that you'll not join in! Everyone else is paying £10. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Re: Additional information

Have a look on CCC's website - fancy it?

[/ QUOTE ]Not in the slightest. Rather "do my own thing" and as for the £25 "fee" - that is the makings of a reasonable bottle and as I would have SHMO along it comes to about 2 bottles.

Yes and no.

We're doing the CCC race to Tobermory with the option of joining one of the two cruises on offer.

I've talked to a few other boats heading that way and we are all of the same conclusion - cruising in company sounds good, but.....

.... everyone thinks it much nicer to go off, do your own thing and have a holiday.......

...and if you bump into each other 'cos your'e in the locality to have a chat and a drink it is much nicer than having to decide - and probably compromise - on the next day's sail.

I race with most of the other boats most weeks. I dont have to take three weeks holiday with them as well..

Put it bluntly Claymore. If we bump into each other somewhere, the drinks are on you!!

Donald

Having to be nice for a couple of weeks? I could see how that might be a problem.
There again, I've got a Sadler 32, and I don't like anyone anchoring within half a mile of me..

So no change there then Donald
Are you to be found there then?

Yes. We're cruising for three weeks. Should be in Tobermory on the 17h July. No definite plans as yet, probably go up and out.

Sheena has never been to Canna or out to Barra, so maybe it'll be a circuit of Skye and down the Inner Sound.

Beginning to get excited about it.

Have just ordered a new genoa for delivery before the CCC races - so will have it for the holidays.

Will see you in Tobermory?

Donald

Whoa! Is that how much pocket money you get for the holidays? I think I'll have to re-negotiate my pre-nuptial contract here!

Donald

Donald - if we are to share some part of the delightful waters of the west coast this summer - I do hope you will be behaving and desisting from the prenuptials.
