We have a Stowe Log and need a Blank, or a non serviceable log, to fill the hole when we take out the sender in port. It is tiresome removing the sender, cleaning the barnacles and other sea growth off the paddle wheel, while holding the other hand over the hole to stop the boat from sinking!! Can anybody help us?

A W Marine...

A W Marine at Gosport bought the entire stock of Stowe spares many years ago when the Stowe brand was sold to Simrad. So A W Marine is your best bet - although be warned that, as a monopoly supplier, they've adopted a "monopoly money" approach to spares pricing!!

Unfortunately...

I've just thrown a dud one away having been lucky enough to get a replacement from another forumite. The NASA and EchoPilot transducers look very similar to the Stowe one. A NASA skin fitting cap is about a fiver, with a complete paddle transducer costing about £25. AW wants £100 for the Stowe Dataline transducer, which, I'd guess, makes them the most expensive in the world by a long way. I've a feeling the EchoPilot transducer (£49) may be interchangeable, albeit it doesn't have a sea temperature sensor.
