Well, the trip went smoothly. I spoke to the (incredibly helpful) harbour master who advised that there were no real issues, just leave over high water which gives 4m of water in the river.
Weather was perfect, departure looked a little sketchy as although I was aware the flood tide is significantly shorter than the ebb, it was still a little disconcerting when the boat was still firmly jammed in the mud some 40 minutes before the departure time!
The river itself reminded me a lot of the Medway on the run up to Allington; tight, twisty, shallow and a fair bit of debris in the water.

Rounded an uncharacteristically benign North Foreland and a smooth run into Queenborough for the night.

An icy start the next day and early departure to get under the KingsFerry Bridge with the intention of rounding Fowey Island, taking the long way in.

Anchored outside Conyer creek, waiting for some wet stuff to get in on.

And new vessel with proud new owner safely secured at Conyer.

All in all a straightforward and pleasant trip. I fully expected to be cancelling due to weather but it played ball all weekend for a change!
