Glad I lifted - but weather is now halting all the work I want to get done .....

For this weekend - forecast is giving up to 27m/s ... and through next week 20+ m/s on and off ... with torrential rain.

Was down in harbour checking boat in its cradle ... watched Roxie which is still alongside pontoon .... she was literally laying over onto the pontoon ...

As the saying goes 'every day is a school day'. I am not familiar with metres per second as a measurement.
Am still trying to work out how many miles per litre my car does :)
P.S. sounds rather nasty.

Over here we talk about litres per 100km for cars fuel consumption ......

Its funny actually .... everyone I talk to in and outside the yacht harbour talk metres per second (m/s) .... but one absolutely Latvian guy who has only recently got into boating after boating with me for couple of seasons - talks knots !!

Funny old world
Most of my mates talk b..x
but I prefer Beaufort

We had to cancell our lift out in Aberaeron (about 30 boats over one day) as the winds were gusting to 25-28 mph and the 'safe' limit for the crane is 20mph.
Next suitable tides for lift out are 20th October so we are keeping our fingers crossed.

S*** ....... I parked my Range Rover and Volvo XC70 'upwind' of the tree that sits next to house ... basically garage has new items to fit to Range Rover after hitting a line of wild Pigs on the road ...

Sitting in it talking to GRP guy who is repairing Superanne .... BHAM .... big branch came down and smashed RR windscreen and dented bonnet.

This is going to cost me !! Its only 3rd party at present ... because of the Pig damage - plan was to replace front bumper / cameras etc. and then full comp insurance ... but of course this has happened while still waiting parts.
Over here - to get full comp - insurance photograph all aspects of the car ...... thats why we had to wait for repairs ...

You parked your car? OMG! Don't you have a chauffeur?

You've got me intrigued in regard to Latvia (just looked it up on the map). AND Latvia is a member of NATO.

Do you agree with this?

How many hours of daylight does Latvia have?

Sunrise and sunset in the most important cities of Latvia

Meanwhile, here in Porthcawl it's a perfect summer's day - sunny, warm & F5 on the beam from Swansea.

Shortly, they'll shut the gates, which will keep out the swell & prevent any spillages of the G&T!

Olaine is not a City .. its an industrial complex with village community - a left over from Soviet era.

The most important in Latvia are Riga - Capital City, Vedntspils - Port Town that until EU and various political issues provided 40% of Latvian Revenue, Jelgava - Town ... Daugavpils - Town ... Liepaja - Town ....

The 11hrs is actually crap ... yes it is 11hrs today ... but it quickly reduces as sun goes south ... till we get to ~ 0900 rise - 1600 set approx.

Plus the sun is really low in the sky - making angle to solar panel poor.

Why would I let someone else have pleasure of driving the Rangey ? Once you drive one - you understand what it means ... ;)
Yes it shows the neighbours that you have pots of cash to spend on fuel as well as boats, (3 of them) and loads of aeroplanes. Mind you with a Russian speedboat & a load of drones I would keep well off the security services radar at the minute.
Have the authorities repossessed the speedboat yet? Or is it hid up the creek For a quick get away?

Yep, they're posh cars all right .. nearly £2k! as the Autotrader ad shows ....
