You South Coast sailors have everything!
Reading the story about the unfortunate capsize and sinking of the ice cream ship Lolly Roger when her freezer moved, brought home to me how deprived of these basic amenities we are up here in Scotland.
What next? you have had floating pubs, brothels and radio stations, how about a floating dental surgery?
We just have midges clegs and ticks.

Bah - that wasn't a proper ice cream boat, just a dory with a shop freezer placed in it on a hot day.

Our ice cream boat round here (in Osborne Bay, maybe elsewhere) has a big fibreglass icecream on the roof, and a proper plumbed-in Mr Whippy machine powered by its inboard engine.

Red lights are not uncommon on the South Coast, but in my experience they have always signified port hand marks. I will look with renewed interest from now on, however.

How would these floating brothels be marked on a chart?

There's a 'hoe' marked on the charts in plymouth. For the sake of the navy no doubt.
