I Heard that a guy from Canada got a deliverary skipper and crew to take the boat from Hythe!

First he heard it was stolen was when he got stopped in Santander Spain!

Must have been a very bad day for the skipper!

And will they ever find the guy from Canada!

Good afternoon to you all.
I have been reading all about this phantom 38, and I thought you all would like to know the real story of the stolen phantom! Because I was the delivery skipper who was duped in to taking the boat!
The simple story is that I was told were the boat was, were the keys were and how much fuel was in it. The Supposed owner told me that the paperwork was onboard I even went into the Marina office to ask about the boat. Once on the boat the boat one engine would not start so I had to fix that, once everything was running we radioed the Marina office and got clearance to go through the lock, then we went straight to Cherbourg, once I got to Santander The supposed owner told us to leave the boat there as it was going to be moved by road onto the south of Spain, is was only when me and my crew got back to England did we know that we were the people who took the boat. I inform the police immediately and told them where to find the boat, I can only tell you this now because the Police have exonerated me and my crew from any involvement.
Unfortunately I was stung for all of my costs so yes I had a bad day that day!
