Still 'No Regrets!

Re: Still \'No Regrets!

Cheers for that Brayman...thought it was me /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Paul, I have a 'Propex' and that doesn't work either....

I have the instruction book though, and will be attacking it with a crosshead screwdriver and club hammer very soon. I have thought about buying a working example off Ebay too, and keeping the old one for spares, as a professional repair might be more expensive. I'm sure these things can be serviced and recommisioned though. Usually a good clean and some minor adjustments perhaps.

My wood good, execpt the new varnish required on the two side strakes and little mast thingy...

Thanks for reminding me!

The Yahoo group is all well and good, but uses that horrid interface. Why they didn't use a proper free forum, such as Aceboard, I don't know... /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Re: Still \'No Regrets!

My dad did the mast for me last February. He took it off the boat and rubbed it down in his shed, then used woodstain to deepen the colour and multiple coats of International varnish. (The correct one for the outside of boats!).

He also did the wooden strakes while she was out of the water last winter.

Trouble is, it shows up the faded (and beginning to flake) varnish in the cockpit, hence yesterdays activity.

New neighbour appeared at the Marina yesterday...a Birchwood Interceptor. Its 25 ft, with a much shorter hardtop. Powered by a petrol engine via an outdrive.

Not sure if they are permanent or temporary...he is in the bay usually occupied by a Nimbus 2800.

The neighbour in the bay to our left is out for the winter, but is a Birchwood 25 called "Tail-spin".
