sticky rod on diesel fuel pump

5 litre can of diesel and stick the pipe from racors to lift pump in it

ok, at the boat tomorrow:
VP guy recons it is an 'intermittant' fault got his txt reply
when he ran the kad it revved ok, when i ran it it did not rev beyond tick over

so we need to also check the fuel supply, can do this various ways:
1) will first of all check it with the deck fuel cap loose
2) set it up a feed from a 5L container of diesel to the racor bowl filter
3) run a hose from a 5L container straight to the white screw on fuel filter by the ECU bypassing the lift pump
4) i have a spare lift pump, fit that
