Sterling battery charger

[ QUOTE ]
I use an 80 amp charger - leave it on all the time through the winter, and use it when the generator is running to charge quickly. No problems at all - what do you want instructions for - just plug in a and switch on!

[/ QUOTE ]If you look at the Mastervolt MASS range, you can change between about twenty different characteristics including really vital stuff like diode or no diode, gel, sealed, AGM or flooded. In the winter I use one setting and in the cruising season I use the traction setting with continuous computer monitoring. Since I don't have a diode it is nice to be able to select the appropriate voltage! With the Mastervolt you change the programming by means of a dip switch on the underside - a bit of a pain but it can be done.

The 'Sterling' combi inverter/charger has, from the original manufacturer, a whole range of settings and if you understand about batteries and chargers they are valuable - that's why the manufacturer put them in there! Sterling have blocked some of them. I have no idea why and they refused to discuss it with my friend who bought one. Simply refused to have a discussion about it, and that was that! Could be that they don't really understand the issues themselves.

Could be they have designed the equipment for electrical DORKS like me.

IMHO If your friend wants all the gizmos he needs to go and buy a product most suited to his needs.... like I did!

The product as stated by many on here is good value for money and suitable for the majority.
