Hi all,

I need to re-step a mast on a Hurley 24 in Bristol or nearby. Whilst I could of course go to Bristol Marina or Underfall Yard (or possibly even Portishead), and will if necessary, I just wondered if there are any clubs in Bristol who have a mast crane who might be able to help in return for a donation to club funds? I'm a member of a Bristol Channel sailing club, and just thought it might be worth asking at least!

Thanks

Can't you do it yourself alongside a harbour wall somewhere? There are plenty to choose from.

Or find a visitors mooring between 2 larger, friendly, boats and use their halyards to hoist your mast?

I stepped a mast off Redcliffe bridge for a 22ft boat.

Block tied off to the railings, line fed up and back. A mate on the line.

Finished just as the harbour master came past. He was a bit bemused but not unduly alarmed.
