Steam cleaning deck and topsides

I think some are missing the question here. the fellow asked about steamcleaning ...different to power washing. and yes I would like to hear an answer too. what about sails would it damage them using a steam cleaner?
I also have found that powerwashing does find gelcoat bubbles.!! oxalic acid seems the way. I use rustremover on white gelcoat probably the same stuff.

I have considered using Oxalic acid on my decks but am concerned that when I wash it off it may stain the aluminium toe rail.
Does anybody know if this would happen?

Doesn't with ours. We use acid of various types to clean stains off the deck, rinse it off and no damage is visible on the aluminium toe rail or other metal deck fittings.

its all well and good talking about chemicals etc etc, but what about the pollution caused from using them?
