I am tracking down a fault with my TV signal and it seems to have come down to the little amplifier.

The one I have is this

It puzzles me as when I look at the manual/instructions for the aerial is says that it is this.

Can anyone offer me advice on this please?

Even more confusing is that when I look at pictures of the aerial it looks like a Glomex instead. Unfortunately I am not on the boat to check.

I have just looked at the system in our Motorhome and the amplifier is identical to the drawing marked STATUS. Ours is used in conjunction with an elevating directional aerial. Not much help I know but the unit we have does not have an external amplifier.

the drawing is just a duplexer variant allowing you to use one aerial to drive both tv and radio.

if you proved it's the amp by bypassing it ?

Just get another 12v amp eg http://www.tradeworks.tv/acatalog/12V-24V-Variable-TV-Aerial-Amplifier.html

Unfortunately, I cannot bypass the amp as without it the signal is not strong enough. I know this as we put a tester on a boat nearby and he has no signal unless amplified as well.

I know it is the amp as the connections inside it are dodgy. If you wiggle the wires you can improve the signal.

Thanks. This is an internal amp as well.

I seriously suspect the aerial is not a Status one.
