I want to know the answers to the following please or where I can obtain them. How many yachts are built new each year in europe and by what % has this increased/decreased in the last period of years?(3or 5 or 10yrs). How many sailing dinghys are built each year in europe and how have the %`s increased/decreased in the same periods?
Many thanks for any help.

I'd be inclined to try one of the major yacht manufacturers (probably not their UK importer). They're the ones who really keep tabs on this kind of info. Some may be secretive about it, but some not. Good luck.

A lecturer once told my class:-
Always address a person at the back
When researching for a talk, gather your facts.
Then exagerate the facts that make your point
Underestimate or derogate the unhelpful ones
Include a joke or amusing anecdote every so often

Hope this helps
Regards Briani

The biggest help in giving a talk is to be convinced you know more than anyone else there on the subject. Which means DON'T fraternise before the talk - you may discover someone who's a general know-it-all and so destroy your confidence.

Regards

Richard.

Try here ...

Take a look at this BMIF website which provides links to statistical information of boat construction and usage both in Britain and Europe.

But there is still a lack of comprehensive annual data (see here). If there were a statistical return on CE certification or HIN issuance for new yachts and dinghies you would have it, but to the best of my knowledge there is not.

My geography teacher, who was 20 stone and now dead used to say, in a very funny voice," tell em what you are going to say, say it and then tell em what you said", that was 40 years ago boo hoo
