So today we put Tomahawk in the water this afternoon at half past three... Bit late in the season but hey ho.. our plan is a week or two sailing...
Start the engines and listen for water coming out the exhaust... all good, EXCEPT.........
Squeeling noise from one engine. Immediate stop and investigate to find the altenator is ceased. So I continue with the launch and get then lads to put us on the visitors pontoon with the launch. A bit of further investigating and take out the alternator to confirm it is properly boggered. So I phone up Mr Startanator in Tiptree at about twenty past five.
I explained the problem and jumped in the car... went to Tiptree and got there about ten to six.
At ten to seven we drove away with a working alternator.....
The man is fantastic.... He asked for a silly amount of money, so I gave him twice as much.. We have a holiday and owe a most of it to him..
