Start Yachting courses?????

I have decided that this Christmas I am going to buy my father a voucher to take the start yachting weekend course. He has always said he wants to sail and I figure that this is a good way to introduce him.

He lives in London and should be able to travel anywhere along the South/East coast.

If anyone has recommendations for good /safe schools who can provide vouchers then I would be grateful.

The RYA do gift vouchers. A lot of the sailing schools are signed up to them although not all.

I did my comp crew/ds courses at Lagoon Watersports in Brighton on the South Coast and they do vouchers. They don't have a page specifically for the start yachting voucher but they do say they can provide vouchers for all their courses so if you're interested then try contacting them directly.

Although it's a lot of money we're talking about already, the Comp Crew course is only £100 extra and lasts a week. It includes everything on the start yachting course and a lot more so may be worth a look.

I did mine at Haslar Sea School in Gosport and would highly recommend - it's a short walk from the ferry which is a short walk from Portsmouth Station. Start Yachting is £275, Comp Crew is £399 - both low season rates which I would also recommend.
