I see it the headlines of today's announcement that pet passports are being reintroduced for movements with the E.U. Does anyone know if this means we'll be able to bring them back into the UK on private boats?

I don’t think any thing proposed (it’s all not yet enacted ) effects bringing pets back .
You still need a vet form the EU to sign off / stamp the worming tabs been taken in the appropriate time frame before entry* and the necessary up to date rabies jab .

It’s the going out to the EU if your pet has a U.K. passport ,the U.K. cert vet that the EU demands that’s proposed to be abolished.
The coming back stuff remains unaltered .

We had a Swiss dog PP so move our dog under this . All this did is get around the U.K. vet health export certificate .
The coming into the U.K. was as I described above unchanged .

* irc less than 5 days but more than 24 hrs and the vet had to witness administration of the tab .
So on a boat you have 4-5 days post eu vet visit to get back into the U.K. .

Whilst doing something at work today I found this in a Govt summary of the deal:

- taking pets on holiday into the EU will be easier and cheaper. Instead of needing an animal health certificate each time you travel, you will be able to instead get a multiuse pet passport valid for travel to the EU
Not sure if it helps?

The requirements to use a commercial carrier are UK rules and have nothing to do with the EU.
