Pop rivets are so last century. Today we have glues for everything.Not sure I understand the problem but maybe pop-rivets are the way to go? No?

And stick the bits of your Boeing 787 or Airbus 350 together. Such as the wings. No rivets holding those on.Well adhesives are used to attach windscreens in cars
