I am looking for long (200mm) thin (6mm) fully threaded (or nearly fully threaded) stainless steel bolts that can be tightened with an allen key or a screwdriver. Not too much to ask for but impossible to find at that length. Does anyone have any idea where to get them??

Thanks

Did try that. May have to revisit the idea. I put a nyloc nut on the end and dremelled a groove. The nut kept twisting. may have to put a pin through sideways but easier all round if I can just buy a proper bolt!

Thanks

I did just post this on the thread about hex head screws - might apply.

Shipwrights working on my boat needed some of a non standard size and we could not easily find. So they cut the tops on the right sort of head and had them welded to the bottom of the right sort of coach bolt. Don't think it cost a lot and they ended up with excatly what was needed.

Take two M6 nuts.
Use loctite to Lock the two onto the end of an M6 threaded rod
Leave 24h in a warm place to cure
Cut to length and tidy up the end with a file
Make a saw cut across the outer nut for the driver
hey presto

If not fully threaded Aldi are doing a tap and die kit this week.
