Hi all, thinking of putting a stainless outer ,bobstay chain on a heard 23. The trough bolt is stainless so I get corrosion on the bottom links. What size, same as the galvanized or less?

Go with the same size; quality of welding on s/s chain may be iffy as it is often used for decorative rather than load bearing applications.

Well you can buy stainless anchor chain, that would be strong enough surely?

I came up with the same solution to the corroding galvanised bobstay chain on my 6 tonner: the 8mm stainless steel chain is still good 15 years later.
