St Malo marina(s)

St Malo Vauban Marina has been renovated in the past couple of years and there are now lots more berths. Mooring against the quay is no required unless you are a Superyacht or similar.

Don't know whether St Malo have increased visitor capacity but we have done this coast for last 16yrs and often boats have had to go west as St Malo full.

Did not go last year as in Portugal now.

Whilst it is true that it has been renovated and new pontoons added, most of them are allocated to locals.

I was there a month ago and had to go against the wall as there was no space (a rally from the UK was there) and I was there last October when I went into the last of a handful of visitors berths.

The ablution facilities have not kept pace with the upgrade and price increase, but I gather they are due to be improved later this year

Still no improvement in the facilities this month however staff remain friendly and helpful and even one of the lockeepers has a sense of humour . Certainly preferable to bouncing around at Sablons if you don't mind drifting for 20 or so minutes about waiting for the lock opening hour. St Cast is excellent and we were pleased to see now has morning bread deliveries if booked the night before at marina office and bike hire although seemed rather pricy at an hourly rate. Discovered Jardin restaurant in town which was good and would revisit but terrible dining experience at one of the establishments overlooking marina due to poor slow service nd food . There is also a weekly local market in St Cast town that provides some interest and considerable fresh produce etc .

St Malo don't forget there are 24 Hrs in a day:D

I know that you are somebody who does not like your points to be unduly influenced by facts but approx 160 nm with the currents and hazzards to be found around N.Brittany makes me think that you are speaking out of your stern.

IMHO :p
