if anyone’s planning on going there this season be prepared for a 50-70 percent increase in mooring fees ..
went there today to enquire thinking maybe a slight increase and it’s gone from £1100.00 for a month .. to £2000.00
I know it’s a luxury and a london marina but that will stop us going …

Does the club have visitor pontoons? Walk ashore I mean, not mid river
Yes, we all keep our boats mid river so the main walk ashore club pontoon is generally available for visitors or members doing work needing to be alongside.

Need to book in advance as there's limited space and several summer bookings last time I checked, but it's walk ashore, electricity and water available on the pontoon, toilets/showers on the shore side. We give a gate fob too so you can escape the club and enjoy the delights of Greenwich, or jump on the nearby tube. Club bar/restaurant is open Tuesday nights and Sunday afternoon, snacks on Saturdays.

Wow that’s a good find, what length / weight limits apply? I’m about 48’ / 15T. Planning on a London trip later this year or 2026.

48' is fine, we regularly have similar length/weight visiting yachts, and much larger commercial craft.

The main walk ashore pontoon is sticking out into the river though, nothing fancy like the lovely protected basin at St. Kats, so won't be quite as calm!

Not worried about sleeping at night due the dredgers coming in and out 24/7 to the aggregate yard next door, all the passing wash from the
UBERs, they have special dispensation to exceed the local speed limit , Tugs pulling those rubbish barges , the trip boats going down to the barrier with the ocassional rib whizzing past creating some wash to frighten their passengers.
On the up, there is an IKEA and a Screwfix not faraway and almost certainly a McDonalds heading the local culinary delights nearbye.
Its only about a mile to Greenwich North station and some very interesting industrial estates in ther other direction.
Google Earth is your friend and a reason why folks cough up for St Kats.
On trips round to the Thames we normally regard that bit between the Barrier and Tower Bridge the roughest part of the trip.

For the really impoverished who have recently had their heating allowance taken away, St Kats do deals such as buy two nights get one free and a better rate if you stay for week.
Personally really annoyed about that removal of the Heating allowance................ it paid for nearly 250 litres of diesel for the boat, the heating section in the the fuel tank of course :)

The dredgers aren't generally a problem (and don't come/leave that often), or the fairly light wash from the Clippers or "Thames experience" RIB's (the latter two of which stop at night anyway). The annoying one is the heavy tugs with large barge chains which displace a lot of water, which are also far less common at night.

But yes, definitely not as quiet and sheltered as St. Kats! Plenty of great restaurants in Greenwich and Blackheath though, and loads of shops and supermarkets within walking distance.

Most of the boats there are yachts with keels, Mobos tend not to have these and far more likely to be affected.
Once spent a couple of hours on the moorings at Hermitage with every single fender out and every last warp trying to damp down the movement.
It was only £ 25 quid and night and after all how just bad could it possibly get.
Wife got off and refused to get back on.
Admitted defeat and did what should have done in the first place, called up St Kats and begged to be let in.
The wife walked round.
We are still married but did not have the bottle to get any refund from Hermitage.

Not any more, we have a growing motorboat fleet, including myself!

I find Hermitage far worse - much more traffic there, narrower and far more tidal chop. On my regular trips upriver that section from ~Limehouse to Tower is typically the lumpiest!

Have stayed in Limehouse, West India, South Dock and Chelsea Harbour, plus those moorings just upstream and somewhere else abit further up.
If your only going to do once, or rarely, especially if you have your family aboard, only one location really cuts the mustard and its right in the middle of it all.
Not sure what the views are like from GYC but doubt better than Tower Bridge at especially at night.
Absolutely Stunning.

Gives us another option!
None.
Gallions Closed
South Dock at the arse end of nowhere.
Lime House . Very reluctant to accept vistors unless you are 60ft long and 3ft wide.
West India .Large groups and Rallys only if you are the ATYC or cough up £+1 K or so privately to get that monster lock open.
You can moor mid stream on commercial moorings if you have enough negociable Rubles and your super yacht has not been impounded by HMCE,
in which case you will get free berth in West India until the bailiffs arrive.
Best way of going ashore will be "your" helicopter to the helipad just up stream.

Chelsea Harbour been shut to visitors for ages.
Pontoon moorings further upstream (all tidal) can suffer from wash and requiring a method of getting back into where the action is.
Go up to Teddington for a quiet night ?
