A componant on the circut with the markings
"ERG 74 ER 82 1" seems to have burnt out. I have tried to find a replacement, but without success, a little bit of help would be much appreciated.

Sorry can't ID the component but if it has "fried" it is unlikely to be the only item faulty. There could be power transistors on the board which are shorted yet show no signs of stress or the short/high current drain maybe off the board and damage any replaced part.

Excuse me if you know these things but without a better description of the part or a photo it sounds like you are trying to fix the unit by visual means only. Frankly it is better back in the Raymarine workshops. They have the test gear and the parts.

Probably manufactured by ITW Erg Components; maybe a switch or more likely a relay. What does it look like? If it looks like it's fried, the chances are that something else is cooked as well.

We found a guy in Jersey, sorry don't have his details but search the web and he should come up.

He refurbishes St 7000 units. Did a computer for us, cost 300.00 less 50.00 for the one we sent back. Superb job, works beautifully.

Thanks a lot all oy you, I did by a new st 7002, but thought if the old one could be fixed it would be worth something to someone.
It looks like it's outside my capabilities to fix.
