Hi i don't now what to choose the Sangean ATS-909 All Band Digital Shortwave World Band Receiver or the NASA ssb receiver its for weather info and weather fax

Greetings all /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

We used a Nasa SSB radio when we were away this summer. Got good weather faxes from Northwood easily. So at least that model is OK. Other people on Rally Portugal were using the Nasa with equally good results. Don't know the other one mentioned.
Regards Becky

The Nasa is an excellent piece of kit, gets great fax and text on a bit of wire wrapped round the back stay. Good weather pics from here to Trini and back.

We used it with Mscan Meteo, an old version.

Has anybody used a piece of software called seaTTY to decode navtex and weatherfax radio transmissions? If so is it any good and any tips on using it?

yes, yes I think its the best of them.

Tips:

Worked straight out of the box for me.
Read the bit in the instructions about about setting the 'skew'
Tune to 1.9KHz ish below the published frequency on USB
If you find your computer is causing interference to the radio, try wrapping the audo cable and/or power cable around a ferrite.

Are you having problems?
