I always greased the inside of the pump barrel at the start of every season with a waterproof grease originally like we used in the stern gland greaser, but when Duckhams keenol was withdrawn switched to one I found in the auto spare shop top of Quay hill in Lymington, grease might be called 'Morris's? our Jabsco on that boat was nearly 20 years old when we sold it and always worked easily. Our current boat that we fitted a new Twist'n lock loo to a year ago is still squeak free on it's original assembly lubrication but if and when it needs help I will treat it with a light grease again, ideally a teflon one which is what the renowned Peggy Hall AKA 'Headmistress', who contributes here sometimes, recommends.
