I'm sittin here,I'm freezing
The boat I'll soon be bound
I heading down the river
To have a drink in town

The fiber glass is shining
the perspex clear as glass
the leather seats are soft and clean
rather comfy on the ass.

the volvos purr like kittens
their both as is good as new
I cant believe it all still works
it's too good to be true

the garmin's not just near the thing
its right on the spot
even the icom springs to life
to prove it's still on top.

the big avon rubber thing,
it still holds the air.
no holes no hisses no patches
could be found anywhere

the new coat of antifoul
keeps all nasties away
the eber thingy switches on
and keeps the cold at bay

the fridge it keeps the beer cool.
the oven keeps things warm
the bilge pump takes the water away
the boat will take no harm

I think I'm nearly ready
for another seasons run
I wish you all safe passage
during this years boating fun.

The spring is coming full of promise
this year i'll see the boat more, honest
then wife anounces a baby's due
another season goes up in poo

instead of down to menai racin
the floor of mothercare i'm pacin
instead of all abooard we cram
we're off to buy a flippin pram

you want how much? i start to choke
eight hundred quid and it doesn't float?
it doesn't need a hat from Hackett
and i thought chandleries a racket

the other mums are cheek by jowl
i should be buying antifoul
instead she's rushing round in panic
my funds are sinking like titanic

i put away the outboard manual
and get 'the my first baby annual'
i don't think i can stand this crap
and what the hell is cradle cap?

the wife meanwhile is on siesta
and what the hell is a trimester?
'its baby talk' a mother gloats
its been three months since we talked boats

but now i have a cunning plan
for i have never been new man
i'll buy a dinghy
and when its ailing
i'll sod the family
and just go sailing

it's a hard old life
I must confess
control your hormones
might be best

meaby less nookie
would have been good
keep your pants on
I think you should

The deed is done
there is no going back

will soon learn the tack.
