advice needed, has anyone fitted a sprayhood from martex marine (where you finish it of yourself) and did they have any problems with it and what was the finish like cheers!
DaveS made one of these this season and the result looks great IMO but I think it took rather longer than he'd imagined! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
I fitted one of these to my Dufour 2800 a few years back. The quality was fine. It even came with a roll of thread to finish off the bottom.
My wife used her domestic sewing machine to finish off the bottom fine.
I will be using them when my current spray hood need replacing.
The hood arrives ready sewn except the very bottom hem.
This allows you to put the press studs or turn buckles on and the trim the bottom to suit.
I found the people at Martex very helpful I think mr does the sales and mrs does the sewing , I had dodgers made at he same time , v good
As Machurley says, I have one, having chickened out of the original project to make a GRP doghouse. Very helpful company and good to deal with, albeit with some to-ing and fro-ing when wrong bits sent. Unless you've access to a heavy sewing machine, do not underestimate the time needed to finish off the bottom edge by hand stitching. It's well supported with more metalwork than most: three frame hoops, the lowest of which connects to the coachroof using short pillars, and two telescopic tubes joining them together on the centreline. I opted to spend an additional £100 to get the ss handrail, and have been very pleased with it.
