Spotty5 has a new master and mistress.

She is in Plymouth Yacht Haven, hand over tomorrow, spend the day checking everything, off at first light Saturday morning.
Neptune planner suggests around 8 hrs @ 15kts ,passing the Bill close to slack. Heading to East Cowes for a beer or three.

A very impressive vessel Roy , that wake is going to upset some yachts! , sorry we couldn't hang about and have a beer no room at east cowes :( .

Didn't realise Jo had snapped of a couple of shots before we went surfing :p

Thanks for the hospitality last night Roy, superb as always and thanks to Mark (Elessar) for the lift over to the island :)

A short video of the new Spottydog entering the Medina river around 4:45pm yesterday afternoon

She's an amazing bit of kit Roy

Slightly off thread, but I hope you don't mind as the Cowes crowd are looking at this one...a question:

For those of you that base yourselves in Cowes (just in case the answer is not Red Funnel), how do you ordinarily get to your boats?

Thanks

...and yes lovely ship :)

No such thing as expert
X marks the spot and spurt is a drip under pressure
Great trip and great boat sure you will have many happy hours on her.

Spotty is now on her berth at Cowes, may I express my thanks to my travelling conpanions Howard (Zippy) and Tim (Griffin Marine) It was very comforting to have them aboard, not only for their wealth of knowledge but validate any decisions made. The trip was quite uneventful, went exactly to plan, Tim did his on a paper chart, Howard did it on the iPad with the Navionics app and I used Neptune planner, each validated the other. Weather was perfect and timings allowed slack water at Portland around midday- very civilised. Andy59 "Paped" us in the Solent just as a big boat had left us with a big wake :) Thanks to Gary (OGaryO) and Mark (Elessar) for the welcome as we entered the river. As we tied up Adrian (Adeolly) came and said hello, sorry I didn't have more time to chat. Jane (Mrs Griffin) bought on the bubbly, closely followed by Paul (Prhprio-the new owner of Spottydog 5) and the evening merryment began.
So all in all quite a forum event. cheers all :):)
PS. Thank for all the good wishes to....

UGreat to say Hello yesterday and to see the new Spottydog which is a mighty impressive not so little ship. Had we arrived five minutes sooner we could have escorted you down the Medina. Sorry I failed to catch you today; we got back somewhat later than anticipated from the activities with the kids.

Lovely looking boat Roy, look forward to having a look inside next time we're down at East Cowes, I'm sure you'll have great times with her

Good to meet everyone at the Lifeboat on Saturday night and to put some more faces to names

Sorry for the slow response, It depends, sometimes we take the car over(works out cheaper than the fastjet) or very often I take SpottyPup, a Quicksilver 620 runabout that I keep at Stone Pier-Warsash. I really enjoy the blast across and get my "proper boating" fix.
