Kershaw made a camera called the Penguin.

I believe the civilian version of my military 6x24 Kershaw binos went under the name "Soho". Mine have no name aside from A.Kershaw. I've seen a civilian pair on eBay for £12 so that's how I know.

Kershaw's made bomb sights and sights for Chieftain tanks and all sorts, and they were very early into fibre optics, but all to no avail. Like some other industries, I suspect reliance on domestic military contracts was a false god. There is also little doubt the cost of producing in the UK was also against them in terms of competitiveness.

Why not?
I could do it, perhaps because mine had two hinges. I had to block one by glueing but the other is still free.
