Anyone know if there is a bolt or something that holds the driveunit to the bellhousing.I cant seem to budge mine and dont want to break anything.
Is there a knack to splitting them?

I assume I have to remove the drive to get to it?

I dont suppose you know how to convert the Volvo Ford dp drive to accept a 5.7 gxi engine and bellhousing? Are there parts available?

I assume you are out of the water, if so then the reply you have had is OK. Otherwise if still in the water you will have to remove the bell housing bolts and then lift the engine out.

Is the clamp ring accesible from behind the drive .Does the drive have to be removed to get top it?

Guessed as much.
I have it half off already.Im having a quick cuppa and will remove it in a minute.

On re-assembly you will need 2 new o-rings - big mothers like big doughnuts. These can take two or three months to settle in on old units and can weep a little water.
When I had this done they leaked about a cupful per week but eventually stopped after about 3 months.

Must have had at least 60 Volvo engines in and out and we have never once used new 'O' rings the old ones were perfectly useable and never, ever had any leak, if it leaks then the bolts aren't tightened correctly.
