Has anyone found a supplier of ready anodised aluminium tubing suitable for making spinnaker poles. Something around 60mm. Not having much luck. Nearest I can find is black anodised scaffold pole.

Try a firm who actually do the anodising,
I'd try Spa Aluminium in Tunbridge wells because they are " just down the road".
Aluminium Profile Stockists and Suppliers and Anodiser | Spa Aluminium
They appear to list 2,3/16" and 2,3/8" in 14G but I do not know what wall thickness you require

Look also at Tintec Anodising in Emsworth.
They may not stock the tube but only do the anodising but they offer various finishes including hard anodising and colours

But who produces carbon tubes? I have end fittings from aluminium poles.
If the tube is a bit too large for the end fittings it is quite easy to cut, say 2" lengths off the end of the tube then cut them to make C shims for the end fittings.
I made my whisker pole from a wind surfer mast (which is tapered) and used the above method to fit the ends on.

I obtained some poles when my club decided to tidy up the grounds & collected the broken aluminium masts for disposal. The laser masts make short ones. Unicorn masts make nice long round ones & a good strong aluminium section. There was also a couple of carbon ones, but I lost out on those:cry:
I am waiting for a CS carbon Phantom mast to come up - so long as it is not my own
G Eeles of Brightlingsea will knock up a carbon pole if factory not too busy . Does a lot of carbon & GRP work. Recently did a lot of work for the big Spirit yacht that was launched a couple of months ago on the East coast

Alternatively, look at Aluminium Warehouse for plain tube and find an anodiser?
Alternative 2, paint the tube instead of anodising? Epoxy? palstic coating?
That is Ok but the tube corrodes from the inside out if only painted.
I would also remind the Op that there are numerous grades of aluminium. I could not comment on what one is the correct one, but those bought from simple aluminium stockists may well be unsuitable, unless the correct grade is specified
I would also advise others against putting aluminium shims inside carbon tubes. As corrosion builds up on the metal it expands & splits the carbon. I know from experience on that one
