You can if you like argue that there is no such thing as correct English, but if the purpose of language is to communicate, then to depart too far from what is generally used by adults means that your audience is limited to those whose speak or write like you, and unless you are called John Prescott, the opportunities open to you in this world are restricted.

The Celts migrated from Central/Eastern Europe where there were large reserves of salt (Salzburg ?). This means they had the means of conserving protein for use right through the winter months. This enabled them in time to have a physical advantage over other peoples.
 
The genetic evidence is that the populations of Celtic nations in the UK are predominantly indigenous (probably Palaeolithic) and that while there was import of Celtic culture and language as well as mixing of genes, the native population prevalent to a large extent, though there is still a lot of work to be done
 
I am currently in Galicia (SPANISH) where they play the bagpipes also. But the local languge is Galegan,which is more akin to Portuguese!

Point of information, Binch, I spent last winter on the Clyde. Any man wearing a kilt and no knickers would have been a candidate for the Darwin awards !
