About 4 years ago I bought a very good and strong winter cover of ebay for my 16 foot fletcher speedboat. Earlier this year I bought one for my brothers boat and it was complete rubbish. It has ripped to shreds already in all this wind we have been having. I need to get another one and all those on ebay seem the same as the poor one I bought. My ebay history only goes back 3 years so cant see where I got the good one from.

Apart from going bespoke where do you all suggest. It would be for a 16 - 18 foot speed boat

Thanks

Dennis

I bought one (universal fit) years ago for my then trailerboat (Sea Ray 16'). I remember a difference in price and specs for those approved for trailering (presumably the stress put on it by road speeds in all sorts of weather would take a snug fit and better fabric quality). Vendors often give detailed info so comparison is possible.

Mine came off eBay US but supplies within EU may be better now.

I think you get better covers at better prices from the US. With eBay global shipping programme it's no more difficult than buying from UK, just takes a few days more to arrive.

I bought mine last year through these guys..

I sent them measurements and photos and they worked out the best cover, they have a huge number of options.. I then called them and paid over the phone by card, very easy to deal with and it arrived from the US pretty quickly..

The quality is excellent with a draw string around the base and web straps that go both under the boat and over the top.. Mine is used on a Merry Fisher and it has zips about 3/4 of the way along so I can climb into the cockpit from a ladder without having to undo anything.. When this one wears out/breaks I will definitely get another one from them..
