Is there a good mifi unit/card that can be bought in the uk.

I am on three and have unlimited data here in UK, but found that it was not unlimited in Spain. Data passport is available on three for £5 per day, but still had limit on hotspot.

Without signing up for a plan in Spain, anyone found a good plan I can sign up for in UK, with a mifi and use unlimited over there?

I thought Offcom made it so that what ever plan you had in the UK had to carry over to most countries in Europe etc

Would it not be a better Idea to reduce your UK Plan to the one with the highest GB allowance that does allow carry over to Europe and see if the amount of data you get would be enough

the main way ( three at least and i suspect others) they get you is lack of ability to tether.

This then stops you running several devices / TV from the UK plan.

A data sim is designed for tethering so is OK.

The Three plan used to be good, but all roaming is at 3G speed which is not upto steaming video.

I have been using this Vodafone deal in Spain.

https://www.vodafone.co.uk/shop/bundles-and-sims/sim-only-data-bundles/

I switched it on last October and it has been running ever since.
50Gb per month allows a reasonable amount of TV.
Buy it in the UK (from a high street Vodafone store) and you will get a UK IP address when you use it in Spain.
This means that BBC iPlayer etc works without a complicated VPN.
