Souwester deck fittings

I built my boat using a lot of Souwester fittings before they went bust. One of the mooring fairleads got mangled and I've been looking for a replacement to match. They are cast aluminium and slightly angular (they remind me of Kryten's head in Red Dwarf). The one I need is 6" long and left handed (i.e. the one you would use on a port bow.

Anyone have one lying in a shed or know of a source?

Try Andy Seedhouse Boat Sales at Woodbridge(Suffolk) he has a shed full of salvage bits from all sorts of boats. Email him a picture and see if he can help.

I think there is a boat bits salvage place on the Hamble as well....possibly

I remember Sowester.. on the green backed shrink wrapped cards

Looking in my spares box I just found these.. one straight 5" and one angled 6" but I think you're after the third type (straight and angled at the same time - that was not in my spares box).

If you want either of these then I'll drop them off on my next trip to Cornwall.

Very close but no cigar! As you say it is the 'other' type I'm after where the horns overlap to stop the rope jumping out and they are handed. Thanks for the offer.

It was a bad time for boat owners when Souwester bought Simpson Lawrence then went down themselves.

I'll take a phot next time I'm aboard and email it to those chandlers. Thanks
