Due to the virus I have a situation I'm trying to find the best way around, if indeed there is a way around.

My boat currently lives in Quiberon where my berthing contract ends in March 31st. I am (was?) supposed to be moving to Arzal around the end of the month where I have a new berthing contract from April 1st. The chances of my being able or allowed to get there seem to be diminishing hourly so my initial choices were that I cancel the Arzal contract (at a cost) and stay where I am or revert to probably a high monthly rate in Quiberon until things settle down. The problem with that is that settling down could / is likely to be months.
It occurs to me that if I could find a local delivery skipper it would make sense to pay someone to move it for me - notwithstanding the Arzal lock being in operation.

Anybody out there know of / had any experience of any such delivery skippers/companies in the area - Quiberon/ La Trinite / Crouesty etc ?

I should add that it's kind of tempting to get over there and move it in the next couple of days while it's still possible...

Leaving aside the vested interest I have in you going ;) , it would make sense to do it now while you can, rather than be delayed for weeks or months

By the way, the marina at Arzal offers a service whereby they will tow your boat through the lock and berth her in your absence for 100euros. So even if you were forced to return before you could get through the lock you could leave her on the waiting pontoon downstream of the lock for the marina staff to move her when the lock was in operation.

That's a good idea, I have emailed the marina to see what the current situation is

I just read that today the Arzal lock is closed, and may well be so for a few more days.
Growing rumours of French people being (hear hear) so very undisciplined with self-containment that new more stringent rules will soon appear, allowing movements only in cases of proved necessity. I know the area as the palm of my hand I would have been glad to help but I need to start back homeschooling with my daughters.

As you know, both Arzal and Port Haliguen belong to the same Group, the Government has just required plenty of cooperation by companies (and CPM is basically regional/public entity) having contractual relationship with individuals, I am pretty sure if you ask them to shift the swapping dates in the two contracts there will be no penalties.

Thanks Roberto, your suggestion is on my list too

Tonight Pres Macron will address the nation from TV again (second time in three days), most observers agree he is going to step up measures and announce strict confinement. I would not even think about planning any sort of movement or trip through the country during the next days.
Just went for a walk in central Paris, supermarkets have about 100m outside queue in front of them.

Do you have any form of insurance that might cover the situation?
Sybarite of this parish may well have local knowledge.
We are confined to domicile now and I am in the Paris area.
However, given the various things that have been said I do not believe anybody would try to whack you with penalty clauses. If I were you I would simply stay on at Quiberon and claim "force majeure". A simple telephone call to both marinas should sort out the problem.

PS I have now just read Roberto's response: "great minds....!!"

Yes, pretty much sorted now with help from Roberto, thanks

I suggest that if you speak to the marina, they will be happy for you to leave your boat where it is, as France is now on lockdown. I would be very surprised if they wanted to charge you for not moving it, especially seeing as both marinas are owned by the same company.
