I am considering buying a 1988 Southerly 100. Any advice especially on sailing qualities and sea worthiness would be appreciated.

We had one here. The owner had a lot of trouble with the drop keel. I would check this out. She was a pig to handle with the keel up and under power. Some of the fittings (e.g. pulpit and pushpit) did not seem to be very strong, but she had a hard life. She sailed well enough, though.

Type Southerly in the search box - there've been a few threads recently (PBO and Scuttlebutt?) about 'em, slightly more complimentary than the above.
