I can't say too much at this point as negotiations are at a critical point but there is a possibility we might secure some sponsorship for this event.

I'm having my legal people speak to their legal people as I type. We're nearly there with the Tokyo office and hoping we can conclude things before their close of business. New York comes on line in a few hours. Moscow is currently at lunch.

Henry, City boys always open a bank account in Honolulu for these deals. It's as close as you can get to the dateline and still bank with major banks. It means you can complete the deal as late as 3.50am London time that night, and still get it all done that day.

Deal done !

I'm pleased to announce that Associated British Ports and in particular their Town Quay Marina operation have agreed to support us.

All attendees will receive complimentary stuff. I'm not permitted to say exactly what at this stage but rest assured you will not go home empty handed.

Sadly Princess Motor Yachts declined my suggestion of a free boat for everyone. I did ask the question and it wasn't as though I tried to take the p1ss. One V39 between 2 forumites is hardly asking the world :)

Thanks for the Honolulu tip John. Would we then be able to claim that no drinks were technically consumed in Southampton, merely removed from the bar as an arms length transaction and stored in the body for drinking / enjoying in Honolulu with the associated taxation benefits ? The question is asked in relation to a hypothetical motor boat forum of course, I understand you wouldn't be able to comment on specific beer drinking in this particular forum.

Hmm. I tried a pretty standard conference call of London, Abu Dhabi, Bishkek, Ho Chi Minh & Komsomolsk-on-Amur and it failed to come up with a solution.

apart from some unfortunate soul having to join at 3am which is also pretty standard :) Looking forward to the meet up, got a full contingent this time, Deb, me, Jamie and Caley, looking forward to catching up over a beer or three

presume you'll be partaking in happy hour :) we may be a tad late for that as I have to wait for Deb to close the salon before setting off. Just donned my party head after giving it a dust off.... work head's fell off during a zzzzzzzz conf call and landed somwhere on the floor about 30mins ago, I've no intention of finding it for the rest off the day :) see you guys soon
