Finally got it together.

The ticket/accomodation/transportation puzzle eventually formed an itinerary. None of the suggested places had room available but found a hotel within walking distance from show / http://www.lamargherita.co.uk/

As far as a single Dane counts, the event hereby is International

Hi I assume you have booked in just around the corner from La Margherita which is a bar/restaurant only and just happens to be where we are all meeting up for the International Beer & Natter Boat Forum Gathering - We may be short of Danish lager btw so if you can bring a few gallons with you....

As Henryf pointed out La Margherita as centre of Beer & Natter I placed that in centre of search. Then checked the show whereabouts and viewed all hotels with avaiable room - up to 30 mi away.

As beer admittedly may have an influence on driving (I hear), walking distance got priority. Southampton Park is the place, hopefully ok for one night.

Could bring some lager, but that would take prior consent from La Margherita.

Do you talk in a funny language and everything? Your written English is suspiciously good so I worried you might not be foreign enough

Currently in board room level discussions with a large organisation to see if if might be possible to get people a half of shandy on arrival. Just a case of negotiating what we (by which of course I mean you) have to do in return. Can't say too much at this stage as I don't want to weaken my negotiating position.

If you have a couple of shandy's too many I am sure one off us can put you up in there crew quarters for the night btw

Being a native Dane I have since long (=always) known that communication with foreigners was not going to be in my own language.

For the same reason our kids learn Danish, English and German languages at school. And have a choice of others, too.
Although not all achieve perfect results and things tend go get rusty over time, you still can walk up to anybody in the street and speak at least English or German.

Whether you find my language funny remains to be seen

It's easy enough to get a taxi from where we are going to be.
