Afternoon.

Saturday we are planning on going to the boat show but coming from Poole and staying in Southampton the night

Will there be any room to moor in any marinas or will it be rammed everywhere?

If there will be any marinas recommended?

Thanks

Ian

Town Quay or Ocean Village would be easiest, best to call first, or Hythe would be ok if you don't mind getting ferry accross.

When we enquired Town Quay were fully booked so we are staying at Iceb Village. Close enough to the show and very close to the Friday night motorboat dinner.

Hi
We are booked into hyth next Friday and Saturday as o v is full, we got last space, however we having to go by car do will be cancelling booking tomorrow,

Just tried to book OV for a 43 foot boat and have been advised they have no space, same at Shamrock, not tried Hythe but would guess they will be pretty busy as well

I'm surprised Shamrock are full during show as a lot of exhibitors boats are there before and after show so should be spaces in between unless there's a big demand from visitors for that period, from past experience that hasn't been a problem.

It might be worth getting in touch with Saxon Wharf. When all else seemed to have failed we managed to blag a couple of nights there during the show one year. We actually ended up on the holding pontoon for the lift.

The whole of the Solent area is crammed packed at the moment. We tried every marina up the Hamble on Saturday, just looking for a few hours on a visitors berth - without luck. Then tried Cowes - again no luck. We finally found space in Yarmouth and had a very pleasant lunch, but that is not really a solution for visiting the Boat Show!
