South coast moorings

Dropped a Fairline 50 off there last Saturday
Got to move Her on soon as able
To Wales!
Could loosen a few ropes or tow a couple away
Anything you want for those Butties your Missus makes!
We parked just by the Lifeboat for two nights
Then went up the creek and turned left
Cos it was 15 quid cheaper!
I could threaten to stay there if they don’t let you in
That might swing it
Plus
Up the Dart just round the corner?
Nothing in Dartmouth

I was hoping farmer piles might come up with something on the Fal , but he might be a pain in the arse.

We have decided like true Conwy Pirates we heading south and we will decide where we moor , and if peeps question what we are doing they will get one broadside.

I would consider the journey there and back as it can be a bit tiring especially after a weekend on the beers.
we are moving as it should save 25 mins travelling gaining valuable drinking time ?

I am jacking in work as kids don’t want my business, so will have more time .

Wasn't sure how far west the OP was planning to come.
Plymouth is not a pretty city, although nice around the Hoe and Barbican, but Plymouth Sound is lovely with Cawsand to the west and the Yealm to the SE. A great base to explore from and lovely coves and estuaries nearby. The Tamar and Lynher rivers are lovely to explore too. A choice of marinas there Personally I would not go for Salcombe, very pretty to visit but not much more - all second homes, no soul and no parking.
Going west: Fowey is lovely but a bit like Salcombe and predominantly swinging moorings.
Falmouth is a lovely mix of commercial port and leisure. If you park your boat at either the Harbour Commissioners marina or Pendennis you are right by all the restaurants, only a ten minute walk to the town beaches in the bay and only a short chug out to open water. Tesco Metro right there too. Premier's Falmouth Marina is a couple of miles up the river and it has a sill so a bit tide restricted. Good facilities and a Sainsburys only a few minutes walk away. Nothing in the way of pubs and bars nearby apart from the marina one which is OK.
St Mawes across the estuary is so pretty but it is really just a village with moorings. A lovely spot to be but a bit exposed to westerlies.
Mylor - where I live - is very pretty and very sheltered with good walks and a choice of two restaurants and a quality cafe. Good marina facilities but the nearest shops are both a 20 minute or more walk away in Mylor or Flushing. Moorings and pontoons there.
Hope this is of some help.

Wow. Didn’t think they’d even finished building it!
They were super helpful when we were down in Dartmouth last summer even though they weren’t finished.
They may have sucked berth holders out of Torbay as that is all MDL.
I think Nick had his name down on the waiting list too

It’s not finished.

None of these are far enough South, to be fully rid of you can I suggest Portugal as a starter? All these other clowns offering advise havent come to the realisation that you could be their prospective neighbour. Now that I dropped the penny you will shortly see which neighbour has it in for another by their suggestions.

That has just dawned on me. That said, they have to be careful as to what are letting themselves in for. We can compare with the very strange ways of North Wales with the very strange ways of Cornwall. Probably not that different given that you have to make your own fun in the country.

I assure you , those beach party games stay in Wales, I am escaping.

Agree with Farmer Piles, Plymouth is amazing. We are based at Mayflower so have the benefit of looking at beautiful Cornwall whilst moored in Devon. There’s a nice Gin distillery in the Barbican too
