Hi
I need about 200 no 6 self tapping screws to refit my D section rubbing strip. This is held on by a lot of little screws holding in position a narrow plastic strip inserted into the D section. The screws holding the old strip were dome headed countersunk screw in steel galvanised or zinc plated and the thread was very close to 3.5mm/No 6, perhaps 3.44mm but with a 6.5mm diameter head. Many of these were corroded(37 years old) so were thrown away.
The original ones were perhaps an imperial screw and head size. The only ones I can locate ie no 6/3.5mm thread have a head size of 7.6mm. This does not seem a big difference but in this size the countersink hole substantially weakens the plastic strip, much more than the original size.

The originals may be a Philips head rather than Pozi-any ideas where I can get No 6 or imilar size screws with the smaller heads. I have searched the web, looked at e bay etc so far without success. If it made a difference I could live with galvanised, alloy or other plated if i could locate the size.

no mention on the website but I have sourced obscure stainless fastenings there, plus stainless screw assortment boxes.
