Hi all, I manually pumped out my mercedes OM352 today and I filled a 5 gallon drum with it. I am now looking to source at least 5 gallons maybe more to assist with flushing out duties and am not in a position to pay high street prices. 5 gallons is about 23 litres which at the rate I have already paid for 4 liters.... will work out a fortune.

I am hoping there are sources whereby I can buy it new in a 5 gallon drum, these wee 2 / 3 litres bottles are "fantasy island" money.

Regards Alan in Arbroath

I noticed this evening that Tesco's (Boston) have a special offer on 4 litres of diesel grade oil for either £8 or £10 (can't remember which - the two price stickers were next to each other, and I wasn't buying oil anyway ...). Dunno if this pricing is nationwide - maybe worth checking-out ?

I was musing afterwards that it's interesting that the old gallon has now become 4 litres ...

If you can find the exact specs, just call either a truck service station (Volvo etc) from where you will have to collect the usually 20l drums, or google for lubricant (oil!) suppliers-they usually deliver.
Probably about £60 incl VAT for 20l for high spec stuff.

Hi Alan,

We (gaelforce) do a 25 Litre Basic Diesel Engine oil at 25ltrs for £53.78 inc. VAT.

Gives you a ballpark so you can possibly get something a bit more local around that price.
